Israeli Ambassador pays UP CM courtesy visit

Lucknow: Israeli Ambassador Reuven Azar paid a courtesy call on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his official residence. On this occasion, discussions were held on further strengthening the relations between Israel and India, especially Uttar Pradesh.

Increasing the availability of skilled manpower from Uttar Pradesh in Israel was discussed in the meeting. More than 5,000 people from Uttar Pradesh have gone to Israel as skilled manpower. Their performance has been excellent. The Israeli government is also keen to take other people for work there.

Cooperation in the fields of drip irrigation and drinking water was also discussed in the meeting. It is worth noting that cooperation is being taken from Israel in the field of ground water and drinking water at 02 places in Uttar Pradesh. A DPR has been submitted regarding increasing the crop yield through drip irrigation using ground water in the Bundelkhand region. A decision will be taken on this soon at the government level. Apart from this, work is being done in collaboration with Israeli technology and companies to provide drinking water in Agra.

At present, 02 Centers of Excellence are working in Basti and Kannauj districts with the cooperation of Israel. Of these, the Center of Excellence of Basti district is related to fruits and Kannauj district is related to vegetables. In the meeting, it was also discussed to make these Centers of Excellence more effective.

Emphasis was laid on increasing the reach of these two Centers of Excellence among farmers by linking them with Krishi Vigyan Kendras. Apart from these, Center of Excellence for Fruits is being established in Kaushambi district and Center of Excellence for Vegetables in Chandauli district with the cooperation of Israel.

In the meeting, the use of Israeli expertise in the field of police modernization and anti-drone technology was also discussed. Discussions were also held regarding making Mahakumbh Prayagraj 2025 more secure by using Israeli technology. The Israeli ambassador said that a lot of work has been done in the field of infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh in the last 7 years. There has been a lot of progress in the construction of new roads, metro, RRTS operations and new airports. He requested that the companies here should come and work in Israel and provide their support in improving the infrastructure there.
